Karen L. Keech, age 76, of Hillsboro, was called home after a short illness at Highland District Hospital on Monday, March 10, 2025. She was born the daughter of the late Ed and Lillie Shoemaker Meldick on March 23, 1948 in Chillicothe. Karen lived in Hillsboro for many years. She worked at the shoe factory in Greenfield and at Candle Lite in Leesburg, both for many years. Karen loved going on trips to Tennessee; her favorite trips involved the ones where she got to see black bears. She is survived by her sons, William (Diane) Keech, Duane (Linda) Keech, and Todd (Rose) Keech; grandchildren, Melissa (John) Matson, Gary Howland, Brett Howland, Sheridan (Ashleigh) Howland, Amanda (Christopher) Keech, Brittany Keech, Ryan (Catherine) Keech, Skylar (Jennifer) Keech, Dustin Johnson, Clarissa (Kasey) Fitzpatrick, Savannah (Eddie) Renner, Brianna Keech, and Audrey Keech; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Pat (Joe) Cross, Eileen (Robert) Hatfield, Reberta (Bruce)
