Sylvia Marie Ames, age 81 of Springfield, passed away Monday morning February 24, 2025 at the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born January 6, 1944 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Daniel and Ellen (Jones) Williams. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Springfield. Mrs. Ames is survived by four children, Berry (Lisa) Ames of Lima, Tina Captain of Leesburg, Bruce Ames and Romona Ames both of Springfield; twelve grandchildren, Jon Captain, James (Amy) Captain, Lydia Captain, Antonio Ames, Jason Smith, Jr., Michael Watts, Patricia Ames, Berry Ames, Marcus Watts, Rashauna Watts, Allen Ames, and Shawn Goslin; twenty-five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren with another on the way; a brother Daniel Williams; special sister and cousin Teresa Williams; sisters-in-law Shelvy Williams, Myra Calvin, Mary Hudson and Phyllis Williams; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Ames;
